Best Ways to Load Carbs Before Competition

This article is taken from my 15 plus years as a coach of long-distance runners and offers the reader-athlete valuable information surrounding what is called “Carb-Loading.” Although most of what I discuss pertains to long-distance running, it makes perfect sense that this advice applies to any endurance sport. For example, you can use this method before sporting events involving soccer, bicycle racing, full-court basketball or a swimming event [at or in] excess of 800 meters.
